Job Title: Mechanical Field Service Technician in Seymour, Indiana

Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to work with customers, service personnel and engineers to assist with commissioning, acceptance testing and resolving warranty issues for test equipment, facility systems and support equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are typical of this position, but are not all encompassing. The primary responsibility is carrying out the work required to satisfy customer expectations.
Essential Job Functions:
• Demonstrate flexibility in responding to unexpected demands due to changes in work.
• Use strong organizational skills and abilities to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines without creating workflow problems for others.
• Identify specific work tasks, delegate work and balance work for vendors and contractors in order to meet project deadlines. Maintain good contractor and vendor working relationships.
• Assist vendors and contractors with installation of equipment at customer’s site.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and perform hands on repair of engine and vehicle test machines and instrumentation (mechanical and electrical equipment, measurement devices, actuators, control systems, motor drives, pumps, valves, regulators, etc).
• Initiate failure and root cause analysis studies of premature component failures and organize data for engineering assessment.
• Work with engineers to perform system functional performance tests on engine and vehicle test equipment in our fabrication facility and at customer sites.
• Assist with on-site test equipment and facilities start-up and commissioning activities. Including planning and scheduling.
• Perform site surveys and analysis to generate field sketches to communicate issues and modifications made during installation and commissioning.
• Ability to determine, document, review and implement maintenance procedures (including schematics, user manuals, safety practices, etc) for test equipment and facility systems.
• Ability to train maintenance personnel in operating and maintenance practices.
• Ability to travel to the customer sites for meetings, equipment installation supervision, factory/site acceptance testing, commissioning, and warranty resolution.
• Ability to communicate with customers to solve problems remotely or to travel to the customer site if required.
• Strict adherence to customer safety standards and regulations will be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Two-year Associate Degree in a mechanical or machinery maintenance field.
• Minimum 5 years hands on experience with mechanical systems, electrical, electronic and control systems including PLC systems.
• Working knowledge of building facilities systems
o HVAC
o Electrical control and power circuits
o Plumbing
o Water Systems (cooling tower, water pumps, etc)
• Working knowledge of diesel engine operations a plus.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Basic knowledge of NEC and IEEE standards for electrical installations.
• Proven record of excellent client service.

• Ability to work both in teams and independently.

• Familiarity with personal computers and programs such as Word, Excel and email. Ability to perform Internet research as needed.
Working Conditions:
• Ability to work in a non-office environment at job sites or fabrication shop; ability to recognize and avoid hazardous conditions and observe safety practices as applicable.
• Ability to work in an office environment, including sitting in a chair for long periods, working at a computer keyboard and viewing work on a monitor, and communicating via phone, in person conversations, and emails with co-workers, clients, vendors, etc.
• May be required to work in unfavorable weather or temperature conditions at job sites or at shop facility.
• Exposure to varied ACS and customer environments will occur as part of the responsibilities of this position.
• Periodic exposure to equipment and engines in operation, heat, cold, noise, vibration, grease, dirt, fumes, fuel and oil will occur and is to be expected.
