Facility & Equipment Commissioning

We define commissioning as a proactive, integrated process for achieving, verifying and documenting building and systems components. Our process is implemented throughout the project, beginning in the pre-construction phase. Commissioning is a Quality Management process with the initial activities related to quality assurance and subsequent activities related to quality control.

We provide the direction for the commissioning process, focusing on details such as scheduling, participation of various parties, actual lines of reporting, level of documentation, development of pre-functional testing requirements and detailed functional performance test procedures. We are committed to providing the appropriate level of service as demanded by the project and requested by the client.

We recognize that the scope of commissioning varies between projects. We subscribe to the Building Commissioning Association definition of commissioning:

"The basic purpose of building commissioning is to provide documented confirmation that building systems function in compliance with criteria set forth in the Project Documents to satisfy the owner's operational needs. Commissioning of existing systems may require the development of new functional criteria in order to address the owner's current systems performance requirements."

This definition is based on the understanding that the owners have a means of verifying that functional needs are rigorously addressed during design, construction and acceptance.

At ACS, we strive to make a difference. We believe a building and its systems should be fully functional when turned over to the client. That’s the demand we hear from our clients and that’s what we deliver.
