We’re remembering fondly a bit of friendly competition and interesting discussion at our Hospitality Suite at Automotive Testing Expo in Novi, Michigan last year. Our Halloween theme included questions that were thought provoking, discussion generating and just plain fun. Many/most had no correct answer. Instead we learned something about our industry and each of you.

Here’s a couple of questions with the most popular answers. Note – participants voted with plastic eyeballs, black and orange spiders, and other spooky stuff!

How many dyno test cells (engine, powertrain and chassis) are in the United States?

  1. Less than 1000
  2. 1000 – 2000
  3. 2000 – 3000
  4. 3000 – 4000
  5. 4000+

Answer: 4000+

What is the oldest piece of equipment in your facility?

  1. 10 or less years old
  2. 11-25 years
  3. 26-40 years
  4. 41-55 years
  5. 55+ years

Answer: 55+ years (Wow, some of you have some OLD equipment!)

How many cylinders do you have in your garage (you can include your driveway)?

  1. 6 or less
  2. 7 – 15
  3. 16 – 24
  4. 25 – 33
  5. More than 33

Answer: 16- 24 was the winning range
