ACS has been involved in the first two phases of the Department of Energy (DOE) large pilot testing of Linde-BASF advanced post-combustion carbon dioxide capture technology at a coal-fired power plant. Phase one was conceptual design. Phase two included detailed design and firm estimating. Phase three, if awarded, will be partially funded by the state of Illinois, and includes the building and operating the equipment as well as data collection and analysis. As lead investigator, the Illinois Sustainability Technical Center (ISTC) released a report in conjunction with the 15th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies GHGT-15 on March 15th-18th 2021 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. ACS provided procurement and construction management services.
