Garlands adorn our reception desk and festive lights reflect from the enormous tree at Greenway Station just down the block from our office. Yet the most joyful tree of all sits in the ACS Middleton lobby. Decked out with unwrapped toys and books, our employees played Santa for many kids who will receive our gifts as part of the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County Holiday Toy Drive. “Shopping for a child who might otherwise not receive presents is one of our favorite Christmas traditions. We believe that giving back is what the holidays are all about. This year, involving my kids in the shopping made it extra special,” says Sarah Diercks, a Senior Project Coordinator at ACS.
ACS is pleased to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County this year to achieve their mission of producing positive outcomes for young people and their families. This year, the Boys and Girls Club gave out 300 hams to families and wrapped over 400 gifts for their Club kids.
Our Michigan office joined in the holiday festivities by adopting two local families through Lighthouse of Oakland County, an organization at the front-line of the economic crisis in Southeast Michigan. Lighthouse’s vision is to solve the problem of chronic poverty by providing individuals served with resources, relationships and skills needed to be independent.
With 100% employee participation, our Michigan office employees successfully fulfilled the Christmas wishes of both families, with a total of nine children. Their generosity included some gifts for the moms and a few household goods.
From soccer balls to dart boards, bikes and craft kits, our ACS family came together to make a difference in over forty children and two families Christmases.
I am really proud of what all of us at ACS have done to help our communities. This is a reflection of our culture and who we are – investing in our employees and communities.
