One of the industry experts at this conference was our very own Randy Rozema – Mechanical Engineer – Vibrations/Acoustics and Principal at ACS. Randy partnered with a representative from Briggs and Stratton to present a paper titled “Silencing the Undesired Heartbeat in a Semi-Anechoic Room”. The case study addressed the topic of the effect of outside influences, such as stamping presses, on background noise levels within a newly constructed semi-anechoic room.

Rozema’s paper was presented Monday to an audience of 35 as part of the session on Building and Architectural Acoustics – Impact and Structure Borne Noise in Buildings. “As a long-time member of INCE, it is always good to contribute back to the organization. Additionally, it provides ACS with an opportunity to highlight industrial work we’ve done and showcase the recently renovated facility at Briggs and Stratton.”
