Project Definition and Specification Development

In this initial stage, goals, ideas, and requirements are gathered, refined, and firmly defined. A kick-off meeting brings our teams together for brainstorming, research, and discussions to determine the project’s scope, objectives, and feasibility. During this phase, stakeholders collaborate to identify key features, functionalities, and constraints of custom equipment. Every project we undertake starts from the inside out to ensure seamless integration from start to finish.


Once the requirements are outlined, engineering and design translate those ideas into detailed technical plans and specifications that consider the facility and systems as a whole picture. ACS specializes in transforming initial concepts into approved designs that meet functional, operational, throughput, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Custom-designed equipment can present unique challenges, but our prototype capabilities are especially suited for technically complex and specialized components. This helps us validate project requirements with budget considerations before any purchases are made. The Proof of Concept (POC) design process involves iterative 3D modeling, virtual simulations, and physical builds to bridge the gap between theoretical designs and real-world needs and limitations. Through this iterative testing and adapting at the POC stage, ACS ensures that risks are mitigated, designs are validated, and projects can kick off with confidence.


Custom Manufacturing

Custom manufacturing takes place in-house, where skilled machinists and fabricators employ cutting-edge techniques to craft each piece of equipment with precision and accuracy, ensuring strict quality control standards are upheld throughout. Assembly involves meticulous fitting of components, with rigorous testing and quality assurance procedures conducted at every stage. Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) is conducted once the custom equipment is assembled in our manufacturing facility. With our team’s expansive industry experience, clients benefit from a wide range of knowledge about various industry standards while aligning with future growth and scalability goals. It involves rigorous testing to ensure that the equipment meets the specifications and requirements outlined in the design stage. FAT verifies functionality, performance, and safety features, as well as compliance with industry standards and regulations. Any deficiencies or discrepancies discovered during FAT are addressed and rectified before production starts.


It is crucial to ensure that any new piece of equipment operates according to the client’s standards and needs and is seamlessly integrated into the customer’s facility, ensuring proper alignment with existing systems and optimal functionality. Our experienced technicians work closely with facility engineers, operators, and managers during this stage to ensure optimal workflow for operators, systems, and utilities.

Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)

Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) occurs after the custom equipment is installed and commissioned at the customer’s site. This is where our systems integration expertise shines. In this stage, our team works with onsite engineers, operators, and managers to verify that equipment functions correctly within the specific operational environment and meets the user’s requirements. SAT may include performance testing, calibration, integration with existing systems, and operator training. The job isn’t finished until we’re confident that onsite teams are confident. Successful completion of SAT signifies that the equipment is ready for full-scale operation and acceptance by the customer.
