Plan, Execute, and Verify with a Proven Process

Construction project planning is a complex process from start to finish. As a single-source responsibility, ACS delivers an integrated Research and Development (R&D), production, or industrial facility construction project by maintaining a consistent and aligned birds-eye view of scope, schedule, and budget. This allows your team to focus on the facility’s goals while still tackling their day jobs. We take care of each of the following stages of the design build construction process with our “inside-out” approach.

ACS commits to customization of the entire process to align with your in-house procedures, documentation, reporting standards, and purchasing preferences. This flexible delivery is maintained in harmony with budgetary constraints, project timelines, and internal resources.

Front End Planning (FEP)

This is our discovery process that takes the project from initiation to baseline development in the early planning stages. This sets the stage for successful execution. Proper planning helps ensure the best value for your capital investment.

Acceptance Criteria Defined

This answers the vital, central question: “What does ‘done’ look like for this project?” Armed with a clear definition of the testing and process requirements, it’s possible to analyze equipment vendors and start specification development. This leads to fewer changes, shorter timelines, and increased cost savings.

Design and Engineering

Now we commence the execution phase. This is where ACS analyzes all the details and develops the design that permits the building and process equipment to fit together and work together. We handle everything, including project permitting, schedule development, virtual design, 3D modeling, and constructability analysis.

Procurement

Procurement kicks off early in the engineering and design phase, factoring in the type of equipment needed for the facility’s design from the beginning. From equipment specification and estimating to materials management, we ensure early identification and timely procurement of the most vital test equipment.

Construction

Construction requires a complex series of schedule development, procurement, subcontractor qualification, bidding, and awarding contracts, all before breaking ground. By proactively overseeing your project’s construction, engineering, and management, we maintain strict quality control, improve safety, and mitigate risks with an overall reduction in time and money spent.

Commissioning

Commissioning is a systematic process to ensure that the building performs to the standards of the design intent, contract documents, and the owner’s operational needs. ACS provides the direction for the commissioning process, providing details such as scheduling, participation of various parties, actual lines of reporting, level of documentation and development of pre-functional testing requirements, and detailed functional performance test procedures.

Acceptance Testing

Acceptance Testing puts “operational readiness” to the test. This phase ensures that everything operates according to the plan.

Training and Handover

This means that operators, maintenance, engineers, and IT personnel have a formal understanding of the equipment, process support systems, and the impact of the facility utilities to ensure operational readiness. ACS provides customized education and training programs through a combination of classroom and on-site hands-on sessions.
